Autumn is well and truly upon us and we’re looking forward to welcoming you at our Monday meeting at Canada Hall on 11th October – April will be delivering an interesting talk on Halloween traditions. It’ll be a great evening. Please do sign up for this informative and entertaining evening – 7.30 for 8pm. It’ll be great to see a full (covid safe) hall on Monday.
Speaking of Halloween, we enjoyed a fabulous ghost walk around Reigate on 24th September – we had a record turn-out – over 30 of you attend for this fun and very tongue in cheek walk around Reigate in the dark. There were lots of entertaining stories, interesting historical facts, lots of audience participation and a lot of fun. If you missed it, there’s still a few chances to join Gavin’s public ghost walks every Friday in October – 8pm outside Market Stores, Reigate - £6.00 per person. It’s a fun and entertaining evening.
Our local charity Merstham Aid Project will be hosting a fun quiz at Canada Hall at 8pm on Saturday 28th October - £6 per entrant and bring your own food – there’ll be a raffle too. These quizzes are very sociable and great fun! An MWG table would be fun.
Please to carry on supporting our regular events during the week, Breakfast at the hub every Tuesday, crafting with Alice at the hub on Friday at 1 and on Saturday at 11. We’re also hosting monthly social gatherings at the Feathers on Monday evenings for those who work.
Please do look out and book on the Christmas wreath making at Gatton Park. Check out the events page on this website to book your place.
We’re also organising this year’s Merstham advent window trail. Please do put yourselves forward to decorate a window – it can be as simple or as complicated as you like. Get your kids involved too. Let me know your house number and road. Once I have enough houses, I’ll allocate a day from 28th November to 24th December to each road for your windows to be unveiled - do pass onto all friends and families who aren’t on social media. All welcome – unleash your inner crafting vibes to make your windows look amazing. See our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/369488161563378
I will of course be leading a Christmas lights walk around Merstham streets, and we’ll be able to see some of the local window decorations and view some of the amazing lights that residents display around the village – depending on covid restrictions, we’ll hopefully finish at the Feathers for refreshments at the end.
Still focussing on Christmas, our November meeting at Canada Hall will be a talk on Fr Christmas. We’re also looking forward to our December meeting/social of a Christmas quiz and soup/mulled wine/hot chocolate evening.
We look forward to welcoming you to our regular meetings and special events over the coming months.
